GRASS

The Geographical Resources Analysis Support System, GIS software originally developed by the U. S. Army Construction Engineering Research Laboratories, and currently maintained by an inteernational developer team.

A number of utility programs are available to facilitate using datasets from the database. These include standalone routines for reading DEMs and printing the contents of LAS data descriptor records, and subroutines to facilitate extracting subsets of binary data arrays and accessing arcinfo tables from perl.
