Tutorial on the Transportable Applications Environment (TAE)

Function:

This set of functions provides an interactive training session for the TAE terminal monitor operation.

The Land Analysis System (LAS) uses the TAE terminal monitor (TM) for it's user interface. This tutorial covers the basic information needed to understand and use TAE. It is recommended that all new users of the LAS go through this tutorial first, followed by the LAS new user tutorial (NUT). After completing these two tutorials one should be sufficiently familiar with how to operate the LAS with its TAE user interface.

The TAE tutorial is accessed most easily by selecting the "LAS Information and Tutorials" item from the LAS main menu.

1. Time needed to run this tutorial depends upon the computer performance and the speed at which the user can read the instructional material.

2. In the tutorial the prompt information line shows the line as TAE presents it (i.e.; giving the valid responses that TAE accepts). However, often the tutorial only allows for a specific response (i.e.; the one that correctly illustrates the tutorial information); thus entering one of the listed valid responses may not work as it would under the normal TAE usage. .END
