Three TAE reference manuals may be needed by LAS programmers. These are
LAS programmers will not normally need to call any of the Runtime Services directly. In most cases, they should be called indirectly using the standard LAS support function library routines.
The HTML versions of the TAE reference manuals linked to above are based on the the document set distributed with TAE-plus version 5.2, December, 1992, which contained at most minor revisions from the documentation for earlier versions of "TAE Classic", the non-windows subset of TAE-plus.
The HTML versions do not include the index pages from the original printed versions. Unix utilities and the Web browser "Find in Page" or similar functions can be used to locate the desired references. For example, to find references to "de-referencing" variables in the user's manual, the command
grep 'de-referencing' $LASDOC/tae/user/*.htmlwill indicate that there are references in files tclu_3_4.html and tclu_3_5.html, which may then be displayed using the Web browser and searched for individual references. Unfortunately, the grep program cannot find multi-word expressions which are split across two lines.
